Job Description
Job Title: Lead Tennis Coach
Location: WTEF Rock Creek Tennis Center Location
Supervisor: Head of Player Development – West Campus
Classification: Full-time hourly position (minimum average of 32 hours/weekday. May include weekend hours and weekly schedule could vary)
Position Summary
The Lead Tennis Coach will be responsible for supporting and being a leader for all on-court responsibilities with tennis programming, summer camps, clinics, USTA Team Tennis and tournaments, and additional responsibilities provided by the Head of Player Development.

- Development and progression of tennis players through WTEF tennis programs.
- Creating a safe and player-centered environment.
- Supporting players through their tennis journey
Duties
- Assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive Junior Development. Pathway for WTEF West Campus.
- Teach junior group lessons, and lead by example.
- Work with the Head of Player Development to plan junior events. Events include open houses, tournaments, team events, and other events as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assist in developing new play opportunities to attract, engage, and retain new junior players.
- Demonstrate excellent on-court management and coaching for all players.
• Evaluate new players into the appropriate level of tennis programming. - Assist the Head of Player Development in charting and reporting player development.
- Support the Head of Player Development with creating the WTEF Junior Development Pathway.
- Support staff coaches in their on-court development.
- Exhibit professionalism on and off the court.
- Others duties as assigned by Director of West Programs.

- Excellent relationship-building skills.
Organized, responsible, and a self-starter.
Leads by example and is a team player.
Experience with junior development and competitive training environments.
PTR or USPTA certification preferred and maintains great ties with Tennis Industry Partners.
Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills with diverse partners.
Proven success in developing players of all ages and abilities.
5+ years of coaching experience.
Ability to work with a wide range of playing levels.
Compensation
- $30 to $35 per hour depending upon experience.
